Mr Dave Woodnutt

Mr Dave Woodnutt is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who consults for Transform at HMT Sancta Maria Hospital in Swansea. With extensive consultant experience since 2001, he has developed a specialist interest in lower limb arthroplasty, particularly hip and knee replacement surgery, including treatment approaches for younger patients.

Mr Woodnutt qualified in Medicine from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1990. He completed a Fellowship in Orthopaedics in Exeter in 2000 and has since built a respected career in clinical practice, research and education.

In addition to his surgical work, Mr Woodnutt served for 12 years as a Regional Clinical Coordinator for the National Joint Registry, contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of joint replacement outcomes across the UK. He is also a published researcher and reviewer for leading orthopaedic journals, supporting the development of evidence-based practice within the specialty.

Recognised for his measured, patient-centred approach, Mr Woodnutt focuses on careful assessment, clear communication and treatment planning tailored to each individual’s needs. He continues to combine clinical work with teaching and research, contributing to orthopaedic practice across several hospitals.
